Ms Reed deceived 7 innocent men to gain $135,000 for gambling, a Sydney Court prosecutor claims.
The vicious strategy was quite simple and never changed. Ms Reed met all the 7 men – both married and single – through personals column. She then wound then round her little finger and asked for money for holiday cruises or business ventures. The money actually went to ‘feed her gambling habit’ and buy heroin for her son, a drug addict.
This month, she pleaded guilty to seven counts of obtaining money by deception in a Sydney Court.
Ms Reed was never tired to say how sorry she was to have deceived the innocent men. However, she also tried to present extenuating circumstances. Thus, she needed the money to help her son, a heroin addict then involved with shady people, she said.
The prosecutor claims, that these won’t help, as Ms Reed is a repeat offender and all her crimes took a long time to stage and execute, sometimes weeks or even months. She, therefore, had time to change her mind, which she never did.
The trial is still in full swing to include lots of facts that are now missing.
