A bill that will ban any video poker games – except ones in the Indian reservations – is very close to its approval in North Carolina. A separate committee voted for it, so now it’s time for approval in the House. The leaders in the Senate hope that the third attempt will be successful.
The banning is to decrease the number of video poker games and reallocate expenses from gambling towards goods and services. The consequences can be controversial. From one point of view, this is a loss for the people who work in the gambling business, and a loss for taxation system. But from the other point of view, it will decrease absorption in video poker, the number of gambling addicts, - at the same time increase the amount of illegal video poker operations.
We’ll keep a close watch on the situation and notify you about the final decision.
