Poker industry is more and more restricted all over the world - not only by the legislation itself, but also by the taxes. Now poker machines in Victoria, Australia, will cost twice more to their owners - the special tax on the state poker machines was increased. This will let the government collect more money for the needs of the society - for example, for a public health fund. The new tax will amount $3033 per each of the 30,000 state video poker machines. It will be paid by three gambling operators.

Despite the increase of the tax, it won't be a main source of income to the government and won't concern players who are protected by a payout rate. it looks like it is a kind of tendency to raise the taxes. Hope it won't touch the players.
