16th of March 2005
This January ESPN presented new dramatic series called "Tilt" which describes inner world of poker tournaments and relationships in the community. Reaction on these series was intricate.
The show presents poker in a back-alley light, showing in every detail stories of collusion, cheating and murder. Coverage of the World Series of Poker became one of the highest rated shows on ESPN last year, and their latest drama made the poker community go on the warpath.
Poker players and Doyle Brunson in particular regard this series discrediting both the poker game and the pros. The TV show gives illusion that all shown is totally corresponded to reality though it is not. Things shown are only rare cases not a tradition. All that is left for players is to rely on the realistic ideation of the audience.
