With all the opportunities that television and the Internet give, it is no wonder that we are now witnessing the greatest poker boom ever. Women are not lagging behind at all, and have become an integral part of practically any poker room.
Jennifer Till, a Hollywood actress and an Oscar nominee, is, certainly, no exception. More than that, she managed to go down in history last month by becoming the first celebrity to win the World Poker Series. She beat 600 other players, with the best women players among them, and won her first WSOP bracelet.
Being no poker pretender, Tilly has been playing the game for the last 15 years. She started with seven card stud backstage while shooting films and then went on to play no-limit texas hold’em. Jennifer confesses, though, that she owes a great deal of her skill to her boyfriend, Phil “The Unabomber” Laak who is one of the contemporary poker gurus.
They spent the last day of the event anxiously cheering for him, while Phil struggled with a ‘poker robot’ programmed to play like a human.
