Who would have thought about it! A police officer, the one whom we should orient on, led the double life and upheld the law being at the same time the owner of illegal casino in Anne Arundel, Maryland.
The officer will possibly wear stripes for the maximum of 9 years and will have to pay about $4,000 of forfeit for running an illegal Texas Hold’em poker room, illegal gambling and related crimes. The owner of the warehouse, where the casino was located, was charged for illegal gambling too. All casino equipment, including chips with the “Tykie” encryption, was confiscated.
The police department, where the officer worked, fell into disenchantment with their colleague and did not show any sympathy to the suspended officer. And this is understandable – he threw suspicion on the police reputation. Let’s hope that this case won’t happen ever after.
