Oregon Lottery Commission adopted a resolution that the revenue of the bars and the taverns from video poker and video slots machines would be reduced from 28.8% of net income to 24.8%.
The new rate will become operational July 31 when new types of slots machines will be available in retail outlets. Video lottery retailers will get more now. Also, continuing the logical chain, schools will receive more because more will be got from bars and taverns. It is doubtful that video poker business will lose money, but this is not a big profit. The popularity of video games is so great that old and new revenue won’t be substantially different . Moreover, this money will go to the different support program and will serve the state needs. Not a bad result.
