Throughout the world, gambling is said to be one of the sins, which obsess youngsters’ minds. Many countries struggle against it and propose different educational programs, which will show children the harm caused by gambling. However, in Singapore they don’t need any additional lessons of such kind. Education minister said that there is no need in implementation of special lessons – it would be a useless burden both on teachers and on pupils.
The best way to prevent gambling is to work and study hard and popularize the idea of saving money for the future needs. Teachers are free to go to the casinos – it’s a personal decision, and it is said to be of no influence on children. The minister said the existing system of values and cultural education prevents the addiction, and this system will be developed to prepare children for a whole set of social challenges. Therefore, children can be glad – they don’t have to spend additional time for classes and can take a rest more.
