We can only take pity of a woman who was recently arrested for operating a gambling house with video poker machines in Columbia, South Carolina.
The police investigated a homicide of a couple which was robbed and killed. During the investigation an illegal gambling house was discovered. Shirley Smith, the owner, was charged and arrested. 14 video poker machines and other gambling devices were confiscated. The business - unfortunately - was shut down, and visitors now have to search another place to play. And this is a lesson to the other illegal gamblers - you can be accidentally caught during the game and go right to the jail. I don't think that Shirley ever wanted to be arrested and associated with a murder. But now she is - and this will be a spoilt reputation and maybe future impossibility to gamble ever after. Be careful next time, Shirley!
