lan Smurfit has just won Palm Beach CelebPoker Classic No Limit Hold'em Tournament!
He managed to show considerable skill and outplay David Clark, director of the roofing company. The first prize, presented by CelebPoker.com, was as big as ₤51,700. The sum does not make too much difference for Alan, an Irish billionaire and a celeb. He sold his packaging company for €3.9 billion two years ago only to become a successful poker player and a winning one, too.
Still, getting the first prize gave him lots trill, he mentioned in one of the interviews.
That did not come like a bolt from the blue. Alan is no newbe at poker, and is best known as an Omaha player. He already won ₤50,000 at the recent Omaha tournament at the Victoria Sporting Club and also took part in the World Series of Poker. No wonder he is playing that big now.
David Clark got the second prize, which was ₤25,000, and the third one went to Charalambos Xanthos, ex-owner of a successful hotel business in Paddington, is better known as Bambos in the world of poker.
