Each day brings us new arrests and confiscations in the States. This day was not an exception. But this time businesses in Alabama, which obtain slot and video poker machines, were only threatened that simple possession of these machines is illegal, and they can be charged.
The authorities base their attitude on the definition of slots machines stated by former Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor. Video poker and slots are considered games of chance, or lotteries, and are prohibited in Alabama – thus they are illegal.
Businesses were given 72 hours to get rid of the machines. If the machines are not gone within the 72 hours, they will be confiscated by the police.
