Poker games in the USA are the source of income not only to usual Americans who spent their money at casinos or at home with friends. One of the native tribes - the Santee Sioux tribe - was deprived of the major income from the gambling business in Nebraska.
They own the Ohiya Casino in northeast Nebraska, where visitors can play keno, lotteries and horse racing pari-mutuel. All table games, videopoker machines, roulette are prohibited in the casino by the special decision. The problem is in the law restrictions which don't let anybody operate anything except lottery, keno and horse racing betting. Gambling is one of the main sources of income for the Indians, so the tribe signed a federal lawsuit, which disputes the decision, and will protect their rights and give them possibility to raise funds for existence. Table games and slots could possibly help to earn more money, but - no possibility to use this source.
The lawsuit has not been held yet so all that is left is to wait for the reaction of the authorities.
