Poker game conflicts with the law are almost everywhere - arrests, charges and raids occur every day. Many bars are warned or prohibited to hold any tournaments - free or money. Charity poker tournaments were not passed by.
Recently the charity poker tournament was considered illegal in Elmore County, Alabama. Even the advertising campaign was conducted, but the tournament for raising the money for American Red Cross won't be held. Really, this campaign attracted attention of the authorities and led to prohibition. The group which was going to raise funds claimed that all funds would be passed to the Red Cross, but the Red Cross declines it and insists that it has no concern to this Now it seems that the idea was totally broken down - even if the tournament have been held, the Red Cross would have taken no funds from the group. Unfortunately, good intentions were crushed in the bud. Maybe they will be luckier next time.
