History Of The Horseshoe Casino
The Horseshoe starts from mid-1950's when Benny Binion bought Eldorado club and renamed it. It became a family affair and was managed by Binion himself, his wife and two sons.
The Horseshoe casino began from a small unknown casino and later incorporated the small hotel in the same building - Apache Hotel.
One of the first and innovative things done by Binion was implementing carpets, picking up customers by limousines and free drinks. Next distinctive feature of Horseshoe became high limits - thing that gave casino its reputation.
Not all was bright and smooth - the Horseshoe faced a problem of licensing. Nevertheless, Binion's abilities and talent let casino be on top. He combined chance irresistance, hospitality and backbone. Problems with taxes led to Benny's imprisonment, so he gave reins of management to his friend until he is outside.
After several years he released, got his brainchild back and brought it up to date. Neon facade that was done at that time considers to be classic.
Small size gives coziness and intimate atmosphere, but gives less profit, so it was logically justified that Horseshoe expanded and acquired adjacent casino. It converted a small casino in well-developed and famous casino hall.
Hosting of first World Series of Poker gave additional fame to Horseshoe. It gathers professional players from all over the world to strive for more than 1 million dollars’ prize.
Recently Becky Binion sold Horseshoe to Harrar's Entertainment. After reopening it appeared that new ownership affected favourably and brought positive changes within. Let's see how it goes further and watch the development of its affairs.
