Face Card: - Any picture card.

Fall of the Cards: - The order in which cards are dealt.

Fast: - As in "play fast." To play fast is to play a hand aggressively, betting and raising as much as possible.

Feed the Pot: - To bet or raise foolishly.

Felt: - The surface of most poker tables.

Fifth Street: - The fifth card dealt in a hand of stud poker. Following this card is the third round of betting in seven-card stud and the fourth round of betting in Texas Hold'em. In Texas Hold'em, this is also called the river and is the last community card dealt.

First Hand: - The first player allowed to bet a hand.

Five Card Draw: - Probably the world’s most well-known poker game.

Five of a Kind: - Five cards of the same value.

Five-Card Stud: - Stud poker played with one hole card and four exposed cards.

Flat Limit: - A game in which only one consistent amount is allowed for all bets and raises.

Flat Poker: - Poker with a blind open.

Flop: - A series of games with five community cards. These are called flop games. Hold'em and Omaha are two popular flop games. The flop is the first three community cards dealt.

Flush: - When all five cards in your hand have a common suit, you have a flush. The flush with the highest card not in common is better, so AK873 of spades is a better flush than AK872 of diamonds. A flush ranks between a straight and a full house.

Fold: - To abandon your hand, usually because someone else has made a larger bet than you are willing to call. You are unable to win the pot but at least you don't lose more money.

Fourth Street: - The fourth card dealt in a hand of stud poker.
Free Card: - A turn or river card on which you don't have to call a bet because of play earlier in the hand (or a reputation which you have with your opponents). For instance, if you are on the button and raise when you flop a flush draw, your opponents may check to you on the turn. If you make your flush on the turn, you can bet. However, if you don't get it on the turn, you can check as well - seeing the river card for "free."

Full House: - A strong hand consisting of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. AAA99 is aces full of nines, often abbreviated to "aces full".
